Curriculum Spring 2020

January
(Topics for the month: Purple, rectangle, #6)
7-9 Letter N. This week we are going to talk about the New Year and learn about the Chinese New Year calendar and what animal each year symbolizes.
14-16 Letter O. This week we are going to learn about owls.
21-23 This week we will learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and other American heroes.
28-30 Letter P. We will discuss all things P, like puzzles, pigs, popcorn, pancakes, pizza...On Thursday students are invited to wear their pajamas!

February
(Topics for the month: Pink, heart, #7)
4-6 Letter Q. We will discuss quilts and quails.
11-13 This week we will discuss Arizona's birthday and have a Valentines performance!
The performance will be on February 13th at 12:30 pm family and friends are invited to attend.
18-19 This week we will discuss the Tucson rodeo tradition. There is NO SCHOOL ON THURSDAY
25-27 Letter R. This week we will discuss rockets. We will even launch some water rockets!

March
Topics for the month: Green, octagon, #8)
3-5 Letter S. We will discuss snakes.
10-12 We will discuss different cultures around the world and talk about St. Patrick's day on Thursday.
17-19 NO SCHOOL SPRING BREAK
24-26 Letter T. We will learn about tigers, roar!
31-2 Letter U. We will discuss the mythical creature unicorn.

April
7-9 Letter V. This week we will learn about volcanoes and erupt ones that we will make!
14-16 Letter W. We will discuss whales.
21-23 Letter X.  X marks the spot for pirates, argggg!
28-30 Letter Y. This week we will learn about yoyo's,

May
5-7 Letter Z. This week we will discuss zebras and zoos.
12th Review day. We will see how much we have learned!
13th Water day! Please bring a towel, water shoes, wear sunscreens and have your child wear a swim suit or water clothes. We will get wet and possibly muddy :)
14th Field Trip, details to come!
19th Last school day
20th End of the year performance 6:30 pm family and friends invited to the performance. There will be NO class that morning.

29-31 We will discuss Halloween and harvest time. There will be a Halloween performance on the 31st at 12:30 pm at Ms. Lesley's home. Please bring a trick or treat goodie (sticker, pencil or piece of candy) for after the performance.

August

8-9 Welcome to school! We will meet all our new friends and we will learn the school rules.
14-16 Letter A. We will talk about Apples and make apple worms!
21-23 Letter B. We will become bakers and make bread, yummy.
28-30 Letter C. Crocodiles will be our topic this week

September

4-6 Letter D. Dionasures big and small, roar!!
11-13 Letter E. We will discuss elephants this week.
18-20 Letter F. It will be a hopping good time as we discuss Frogs this week.
25-27 Letter G. Speaking of hopping this week is all about grasshoppers.

October

2-4 Letter H. We will talk about horses and how to take care of them.
9-11 NO SCHOOL FALL BREAK
16-18 Letter I. Its all about ice cream this week! We will make some too!
23-25 Letter J. This week we are talking about jellyfish and will be painting some large jellyfish.
30-November 1 Harvest and Halloween week!
*We will have a Halloween performance on October 31st at 12:00 pm. Students are invited to wear their costume to school or change into it before the performance. After the performance parents are invited to participate in a trick or treat activity for the class. Please bring a small goodie (sticker, pencil, a piece of candy etc)  for each student.

November

*We will have our preschool performance on Wednesday May 15th at 6:30. Families and friends are invited to watch how much your kiddo has learned and grown!
Thursday, May 16th is the last day of school and it will be water day!! Please bring/wear a swim suit, towel and sunscreen! We will get wet and muddy!

We will have a Valentine's performance this week, details to come by email!
20-22 The theme this week is Rodeo! NO SCHOOL on Thursday

Fall Semester Curriculum 2017

August- color red, number 1  and the circle shape
01-03  School is fun! We will learn new songs, learn the school rules and read some "welcome to school" books!
08-10  Letter A is for ants! We will learn how the live, what they eat and how very strong they are!
15-17  Letter B is for balloons. We will go up up and away!
22-24  Letter C is for caterpillars. We will discuss the life cycle of caterpillars. We will read and act out the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".
29-31  Letter D is for Dinosaurs. From fossils to real life renderings.

September color blue, number 2, and the oval shape
05-07  Labor Day and American jobs! Every job is important and we will discuss many!
12-14  Letter E is for Elephants. We will learn the three different species of elephants. 
19-21  The season of Autumn, Is there Autumn in Tucson? we will find out!
26-28  Letter F is for Fish! We will discuss fresh water fish and saltwater fish.

October- color black, number 3 and the pentagon shape
03-05  Letter G is for Garden. What grows in gardens and what time of year?  We will discuss theses questions. 
10-12  Fall break NO SCHOOL
17-19  Letter H is for Hippopotamus. We will learn their habitats and discuss their life cycle.
24-26  Letter I is for Icecream and igloos. It is a yummy week!
31 Nov 1-2- Halloween Performance!! Harvest time

November- color brown, number 4 and the shape triangle
07-09  Letter J is for jellyfish.
14-16 Thanksgiving  history
21 Preschool kids give thanks! NO SCHOOL 22-23
28-30 Letter K is for King of the kittens! Your little one will come home purring :)

December -color white , number 5 and the shape star
05-07 Letter L is for Lions Licking Lollipops 
12-14 Letter M is for Moose. There is a moose on the loose!
19-20 Winter season! Bundle up we will learn why we have winter.

Spring Semester Curriculum

Happy New Year and Welcome Back!


For January we will highlight: the shape octagon, the color white, and the number 6.

January 10-12 We will discuss the letter N. N is for New Year!
January 17-19  The topic this week is  American heroes.
January 24-26 We will discuss the letter O. O is for ostrich and owls to very different birds!
January 31-February 2 We will discuss the letter P and will have a pajama day on Thursday!



For February we will highlight: the shape heart, the color pink, and the number 7.

February 7-9 We will discuss the letter Q. Queens, quail and quetzals will all be topics we will explore.
February 14-16 VALENTINE PERFORMANCE ON THE 14th! Please join us for a valentine performance and valentine exchange, the friendly queen of hearts will be arriving too!
The rest of the week we will talk about Arizona history and celebrate  Arizona's 105th birthday!
February 21 Rodeo Day, we will have a cowboy of a good time, yeehaw!
NO SCHOOL ON February 22 and 23
February 28-March 2 This week our topic will be the letter R. We will discuss different kinds of reptiles.



For March we will highlight: the shape rhombus, the color yellow, and the number 8.

March 7-9 The letter S will be our highlight. We will talk about the sea, starfish and sand dollars.
NO SCHOOL March 14-16 SPRING BREAK
March 21-23 We will discuss the season of spring and plant something to!
March 28-30 The letter T will be our highlight.We will talk about turtles and tortoises.



For April we will highlight: the shape rectangle, the color purple, and the number 9

April 4-6 The letter U will be the highlight.We will talk about umbrellas and what is up and under different objects.
April 11-13 Its volcano week!  We will highlight the letter V.
April 18-20 We will talk about watermelon, wolves and walruses. It the let W for the week.
April 25-27 The letter X is the highlight, we will talk bout X-rays and the human body.



For May we will highlight: the shape square, the color orange, and the number 10

May 2-4 The letter for the week is Y. we will talk bout yellow yarn yo-yos :)
May 9-11  The letter Z is the highlight and we will talk about the zoo!
May 16-18 We will review the whole alphabet, numbers 1-10, our ten colors, our 10 shapes, and our favorite songs!
May 23-24 Class will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday, performances in the evening.

*Afternoon class: 

We will have our Preschool Graduation Performance on Monday evening, May 22nd at 6:00pm  Family and friends are invited to attend! The performance will be at the preschool playground, please bring a lawn chair or blanket.
We will have our Fire Station tour on Tuesday May 23rd at 1:00 pm. The tour will be at Fire Station #21  right by my house. We will meet at the parking lot of Leslie's Pool Supply that is just down the road from the fire station. We will then walk on over for the tour. Parents and younger siblings are invited. It will be about an hour tour.

*Morning Class:

We will have our Fire Station tour on Wednesday May 24th at 10:00 am. The tour will be at Fire Station #21  right by my house. December currcilumn

The shape we are learning this month is star. Our color highlight is Green. The number we are working on writing and recognizing is 5.

December 6-8 We are talking about the letter M, specifically about mice.

December 13-15 This week we are talking about the virtue gratitude and our families.

December 20-22 We are going to learn about the winter season (real winter and Tucson winter :)  )

No school December 27-January 5

School starts back up on  January 10th
