August Curriculum

Week One (August 6-9)
Topic: “I am a unique individual.”
Students will learn that each student is different; we will discover our similarities and differences.
Number focus: 1 (write the number and add the number).
Color focus: Red (identify the color and learn to spell it).
Shape focus: Circle (write and identify circles).
Book focus: “Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon”

Week two (August 13-16)
Topic:  “Preschool Olympic Games”
We will learn about different countries and play fun challenging games!
Number focus: 1 (write the number and add the number).
Color focus: Red (identify the color and learn to spell it).
Shape focus: Circle (write and identify circles).
Book focus: An assortment of books about the Olympics.

Week three (August 20-23)
Topic:  The Letter A, acorns and alligators.
We will make an acorn craft and learn about alligator habitats.
Number focus: 2 (count, write and add).
Color focus: Red  (identify the color and learn to spell it).
Shape focus: Circle (write and identify circles).

Week four (August 27-30)
Topic: The Letter B, baker and bees
We will learn how to make yeast bread and the role that bees play in pollination.
Number focus: 2 (count, write and add).
Color focus: Red (identify the color and learn to spell it).
Shape focus: Circle (write and identify circles).

        The second class of the week we have show and tell, your student can bring anything in that they would like to present to the class.
